The Project Management Professional (PMP®) is the global standard for project management certification, but did you know many federal project managers follow another track?  The Federal Acquisition Certification in Program/Project Management (FAC-P/PM) is a training and certification path unique to the Federal government that places project management in the context of the Acquisitions life cycle.  This session will provide an overview of the FAC-P/PM certification, as well as other internal project management certifications, and offer solutions for bridging the gap between PMP® certified practitioners, and their customers, partners, peers, and other stakeholders who may not be as familiar with ‘the PMBOK way.’  Whether you’re a federal employee, working in a government-adjacent industry, or new to the whole scene, understanding the similarities, differences, and contextual application of each path will help you connect the dots and ensure that your messages aren’t lost in translation.
