Contracting with the Federal Government presents a lucrative but often intimidating opportunity for businesses. This one-day overview attempts to demystify the subject by introducing participants to some of the unique elements of doing business with the Federal Government (vs commercial opportunities): The Federal Procurement Cycle, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Contract Types, Cost Accounting, and Timesheet keeping standards pertaining to Federal contracting.
Participants will also learn where to look for opportunities and will receive a quick overview of key aspects of Federal RFPs’ organization and significant data points. They will be exposed to industry “best practices” for preparing a compliant proposal and the process for their evaluation.
Team-taught by two Federal contracting professionals with more than a half-century of experience, participants will also have opportunities to pose their own questions throughout the day to ensure the experience is somewhat tailored to their needs.

David Stein, PMP, PMI-RMP is a versatile program manager and consultant with over 30 years of Federal contracting experience and has managed every type of contract; participated in over 200 proposals as a solution architect and lead almost two dozen large contract startups (transitions). He is presently the Corporate Transition Lead for the largest Federal Government IT integrator. His clients regularly include DOD, DHS, the IC, HHS, and the Executive Office of the President
Rafael Boza, PMP, PMI-RMP serves as an industry consultant with over 35 years of experience bringing commercial, government, and contractor perspectives to Federal acquisition. As a former government executive, and currently as industry consultant, Rafael has managed both the development of full acquisition lifecycles for the government and the solicitation response process for contractors. He has also led the delivery of major contracts. Rafael worked for the Department of Defense and consulted for the Departments of Health and Human Services, Veteran's Affairs, Justice, and Education. Rafael teaches certification courses for PMI and for Kitco.
