Vice President of Technology
Gilbert Brown serves as the Vice President of Technology at the Project Management Institute (PMI) – Baltimore Chapter, a prominent non-profit organization with over 3000 members worldwide. Joining PMI in 2015 as a certified Project Management Professional (PMP©), Gilbert expanded his credentials to include PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP©) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in 2009.
In his professional career, Gilbert holds the roles of Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect at E4 Logics, Inc., leveraging over 30 years of IT experience across various industries such as Engineering, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Government sectors. His expertise spans Data Science, Cloud Computing, Agile Product Management, Security, and more, having managed projects and products ranging from small-scale to multimillion-dollar initiatives.
Within PMI – Baltimore Chapter, Gilbert dedicates his time to volunteer activities, focusing on mentoring IT volunteers and managing critical aspects like Membership Data Analytics, Contract Negotiations, and Office365.com support. He is instrumental in the design, development, and maintenance of the PMI Baltimore website, as well as in IT Asset Management and Audio/Visual Engineering solutions for chapter events and meetings. As a Discipline Agile Champion, Gilbert contributes significantly to the chapter’s initiatives and transformations, including the recent overhaul of the chapter’s website to enhance user experience.
Outside of his professional and volunteer commitments, Gilbert is passionate about technology education and community engagement. He initiated and successfully managed Trinity Lutheran Christian School’s Robotics Program, blending traditional Project Management with Agile methodologies to mentor and instruct young students. Recognized for his dedication, Gilbert is certified by the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy as a VEX Robotic Programming Instructor and by VEX Corporation as a Robotic instructor, judge, and coach for VEX GO, IQ, and V5 Robotic Platform and Curriculum. His contributions underscore his commitment to fostering technological innovation and education within his community and beyond.
